World History Syllabus - Class syllabus for World History.


Unit I Vocabulary Poster - Students will create a vocabulary poster with a selected word from Unit I. 


Unit I Vocabulary Packet - Vocabulary packet for Unit I, students will be responsible for identifying the vocabulary word, page number located, using each word in a sentence showing mastery of the word, and a quick picture/symbol to associate with that word.


Unit I Vocabulary Crossword - Vocabulary crossword to help students review their vocabulary words.  Word bank is included.


Unit I Timeline - Students will create a timeline utilizing 10 main events associated with this unit.  This project serves as a unit preview, helping students to see some of the upcoming events we will study in further detail.


Unit I Map Project  / Blank Map - Students will create a map that identifies some of the key places we will be studying over the course of the year.  Students will also be responsible for creating a key, which clearly identifies each of the required locations.


Hammurabi's Code - Primary Source - Students will read some of Hammurabi's law codes, they will compare these codes to modern laws, as well as compare how Hammurabi's code effects people of different social classes.


The Epic of Gilgamesh - Source - The source material for the Epic of Gilgamesh project.  This source has been compiled as a quick read summary of the Epic of Gilgamesh.


The Epic of Gilgamesh Summarization Practice - Once students have read the Epic of Gilgamesh they will demonstrate their skills by summarizing their favorite movie three different ways, similar to how it was during in The Epic of Gilgamesh packet.



King Tut / Hatshepsut Packet:  Students will read and answer questions based on the Journal of Howard Carter and A.C. Mace, then summarize a short reading about the first Female Pharaoh Hatshepsut. 

Unit I Quiz Review Questions - Students will complete a series of questions designed to help them prepare for the upcoming quiz.


Buddhism Packet - Students will examine the Four Noble Truths and The Eight-fold Path, they will also answer questions that requires them to analyze Buddhist beliefs.


Hinduism Packet - This is mainly a reading packet that introduces students to some of the basic practices followed by Hinduism (Ancient World).



Early Chinese Civilizations (Class/Bookwork): Students will read a section of the textbook and answer questions.

Unit I Exam Review Questions - A series of review questions to help students focus on the key concepts needed to succeed on the upcoming exam.
